By not extending James Cook before other stars, the Buffalo Bills have sent a clear message to their running back.
If it wasn’t already the clear, the Buffalo Bills sent a message to star running back James Cook this offseason.
Not just in their words that they weren’t going to be negotiating with last season’s rushing touchdowns leader until after the Draft, but their actions towards other young players on the roster showed that as well.
Buffalo extended key starters line linebacker Terrel Bernard, edge rusher Greg Rousseau, and cornerback Christian Benford to name a few. Along the way, general manager Brandon Beane showed why the team wanted to keep those stars in Western New York.
“We believe in them, and we want them to be here and we want them to know that,” Beane shared. “If we’re going to commit, let’s commit here for a considerable time.”
