Dumi Mkokstad Career
Mkokstad began his musical career at the age of nine. His father, two brothers and sisters used to join him in singing at store openings and funerals in Mount Ailif where they lived. Hamilton Kubashe, a local promoter of music, discovered him while he sang at a funeral.
In 2003, he released his debut album, titled Dumi Kokstad. This led him to become a star in the following years. After joining Big Music in 2010, he enjoyed even greater success.
Over the course of his career, he’s worked with artists such as the Jaziel Brothers and Hlengiwe Mhlaba. Bethusile Mcinga is another.
