Somizi Mhlongo (born December 23, 1972) is a dancer, actor, and television host from South Africa. He gained notoriety for his performance as Fire in the musical and political movie Sarafina!
After appearing in Scavengers as a teenager, he had his big break in 1987. He has performed dance in numerous productions and occasions, such as the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
He played the role of Young Thief in the 1995 drama movie Cry the Beloved Land. Somizi has been in numerous television programs, including V Entertainment and Idol SA.
From 2016 to 2018, Mhlongo co-hosted the South African Music Awards for three days in a row. His longtime gay companion Mohale Motaung is his wife.
