The River 5, Full Story, Cast Summary, Teasers The River is the story of Khanyisa, a mine-owner who has a strong commitment to her family. She also wants to maintain her luxurious lifestyle. Lindiwe is married to Zweli Dikana. She is the mother of Andile, Mbali, and Nomonde Dikana. Their home is a large mansion located in Pretoria East.
Many of the residents of Refilwe who are employed by the mine are struggling financially. Malefu Mokoena, her three children – Dimpho and Itumeleng – and their mother, Malefu Mokoena, live in Refilwe. Tumi is adopted by Thato Mokoena and discovered as a newborn baby, unknowing to anyone but Malefu.

The River is a South African television show produced by Phathu and Gwydion. The show was created by M-Net, and produced by Tshedza Pictures on the 1Magic channel of DStv. Showmax is Naspers’ streaming platform. Since 2019, Mzansi Magic has shown reruns every weekday night at 19:00, and Mzansi Wethu has been showing older reruns at 20:00.
Sindi Dlathu became the co-executive director of the fourth season in 2021. They announced in November 2021 that a fifth and final season would premiere on February 7, 2022. Later, they confirmed that the sixth and final series would begin on February 6, 2023.
Season six features Sindi Dlathu, Presley Chweneyagae, Siyabonga Thwala, Tsholofelo Matshaba, Tinah Mnumzane, Bheki Mkhwane, and Brenda Mhlongo. The cast also includes Lunga Mofokeng, Lunathi Mampofu, Galaletsang Koffman, Matshepo Sekgopi, Thapelo Sebogodi, Tina Dlathu, Thapelo Ramotshehla, Siya Sepotokele, Chuck Shisane Wa Sekgobela, Linda Mtoba, Kagiso Rathebe, and Nokuthula Ledwaba.
The story takes place in Pretoria and focuses on South Africa’s mines. The discovery of a diamond in the river that runs between the poor township Refilwe, and the wealthy neighborhood Silver Lakes is a blessing turned into a curse.

Presley Chweneyagae Career
Presley Chweneyagae is a South African actress born in 1984. He is best known for playing the lead in Tsotsi which won him the Academy Award for Foreign Language Film during the 78th Academy Awards.
Tsotsi made his feature film debut, despite having previously appeared in community theater and plays.
Chweneyagae was a part of many productions at North West Arts, now called Mmabana Arts Foundation. He appeared as Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Grahamstown Arts Festival and in the play Cards.
In 2000, he began his television career with the SABC TV mini-series Orlando. In 2006 he played The Poet, in the miniseries When We Were Black.

Lawrence Maleka Career
Lawrence Maleka, a South African actor and host, is well known. You may recognize him as the host of the Mzansi Magic reality series Clash of the Choirs South Africa. He took over for Bonang Matheba in 2016 during the third season.
Lawrence previously co-hosted AfricaMagic Entertainment’s celebrity gossip show Star Gist with former Big Brother contestant Vimbai Muthinhiri from 2012 to 2014.
In 2009, his journey into the entertainment industry started when he hosted The Gadget Show for Soweto TV. Lawrence has hosted a number of shows for the broadcaster over the years including Ziyamporomo, Street Radio and many others.
