Hannah Green is winging her way to Melbourne to have a crack at the ISPS HANDA Australian Open after completing her most successful season on the LPGA Tour.
Green finished T19th in the LPGA Tour Championship in Florida behind Thailand’s Jeeno Thitikul, who picked up the biggest prize in women’s golf history of $US4 million after rolling in a birdie putt at the 72nd hole.
Mount Lawley ace Green ultimately finished in seventh place on the season-ending rankings tablehaving won three events in 2024. This represents her best-ever season on the LPGA Tour, with her previous highest finish in the rankings coming in 2022, when she ended the year in 18th position.
Green was also awarded the Greg Norman Medal at the 2024 PGA of Australia Awards last week and represented Australia in the Women’s Olympic Golf tournament, where she finished fifth.
She will hit Kingston Heath and The Victoria Golf Club on Wednesday in some of the best form of her career as the No. 5 player in the world – albeit likely battling some jet lag at the end of a long season overseas.
