David Mabuza (born 25 August 1960)currently serves as the Deputy President of South Africa and holds the position of Deputy President within the African National Congress (ANC). His political journey began as a student and secretary of AZASO.
He later joined the United Democratic Front with the support of mentor Matthews Phosa. Phosa played a crucial role in securing him key positions, such as the MEC position in 1994. Despite initial opposition, he eventually backed Ramaphosa as Zuma’s successor.
