The actress rose to fame after portraying the lead part of Riri, a community health worker. She performed the part in season 12 of the SABC1 youth drama series Soul City, which aired in 2014.

On September 9, 2015, it was announced that she had taken over Thishiwe Ziqubu’s role as Thandi in the second season of the SABC3 telenovela High Rollers. Ziqubu had left the show for “personal reasons” and Ziqubu had been playing Thandi.

Nunu joined the cast of the soap opera Scandal! on Friday, May 26, 2017 in the recurring role of Hlengiwe.

She also played Zandile in an episode of the soap opera Broken Vows. Her first appearance was in Season 1, Episode 77. (25 July, 2017).

In 2019, she was cast as Dudu in the second season of the supernatural drama series The Herd on Mzansi Magic.
